InteliEnergy Lamp, RoHS and WEEE Compliance

August 21, 2017 John Ellenberger

At Elevate Technologies Inc., we do all we can to be good global citizens, and we’re proud of our work to help protect the environment and our natural resources. To that end, all our products — including the InteliEnergy family of LED cordless-battery powered lamps — are WEEE and RoHS compliant, but what does that mean?

Companies that sell electrical and electronic goods in the European Union must conform to the EU legislation for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), which includes: the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE), which sets out the responsibilities of EEE producers with regard to the collection and recycling of waste from a broad range of EEE at their end of life. Basically, WEEE dictates how manufacturing waste is controlled, handled, collected, and recycled appropriately. This is not only a good idea for the European Union, but good for our environment all around.

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS), is legislation that bans the use of certain hazardous substances (such as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and some polybrominated flame retardants) in electrical and electronic equipment.

By following and complying with RoHS and WEEE legislation, and by partnering with component providers and a supply chain who share our values for treating people and the planet with respect, we hope to make real and positive difference.

Thank you everyone!
